How SaleSeekr Works

Transparency starts with understanding how grocery data is gathered, normalized, and processed.

Data Sourcing

SaleSeekr operates automated tracking pipelines that monitor publicly available pricing feeds and official promotional publications from supported retailers across Europe.

We do not rely on crowdsourced or user-submitted data, which can often be outdated or inaccurate. By crawling data directly from original retailer feeds, we guarantee a structurally clean foundation for market comparison.

Normalization & Categorization

Retailers describe identical products using completely different naming conventions, shorthand, and structural units. Our backend ingestion engine parses these raw text variables and sorts products into a single unified category tree.

This architectural normalization allows you to drill down into localized categories (like dairy, pantry staples, or fresh produce) and view cross-retailer pricing side by side, bypassing arbitrary marketing jargon.

Pipeline Sync & Validity

Promotional databases are automatically updated as soon as retailers publish their weekly or cyclical flyers. Our synchronization jobs ensure that upcoming or current price drops match active store offers.

Please note that while our architecture minimizes sync delays, individual store locations retain sole authority over final regional pricing, local inventory levels, and specific item availability.

Independent Architecture

SaleSeekr is built to provide an objective, neutral overview of consumer grocery metrics. We do not accept corporate sponsorships, nor do we offer paid premium placement or prioritized search rankings to retail brands.

Our software indexes prices algorithmically based strictly on real discount ratios, letting the data speak for itself so you can make informed, data-driven household budgeting decisions.
